Terms of Service
Effective date: August 31, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ClassOS (the "Service"), operated by [PLACEHOLDER: legal entity/operator name — same detail flagged in the Privacy Policy]. By creating an account or otherwise using ClassOS, you agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use ClassOS with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian, or through your school.
1. Eligibility and account responsibilities
- You must provide accurate account information (name, email, and, for students, curriculum/grade details) and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
- ClassOS supports three account roles — student, parent, and admin — each with access limited to what that role is meant to see. Parent accounts may only view data for children they are legitimately linked to via an invite code.
- You must be old enough to hold an account under your local law, or use ClassOS through a parent/guardian or school account as applicable.
2. Educational-purpose disclaimer
ClassOS is a learning support tool. It is designed to supplement — not replace — instruction from qualified teachers and your school's own curriculum, assessments, and grading. Lessons, explanations, quizzes, and AI-generated content are provided for educational and study purposes only and should not be treated as a substitute for official coursework, exams, or professional academic advice. We do not guarantee any specific academic outcome, grade, or exam result from using the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or data, including another student's or parent's linked information.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or content that is abusive, harassing, or infringing (including through the friends/social features).
- Use the Service to cheat on a school-administered exam or assessment, or to submit AI-generated work as your own where your school's academic-integrity policy prohibits it.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or use automated means to scrape or overload it.
We may suspend or remove content, or restrict an account, that violates this section — see Section 7.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Some ClassOS features require a paid subscription. Current plans and prices are shown in the app at checkout before you pay.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers (QiCard and SwiftPayIQ for Iraq-based payments). By subscribing, you also agree to the applicable payment provider's own terms for that transaction.
- Subscriptions provide access to specific subjects/features for the plan period shown at checkout. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, [PLACEHOLDER: confirm renewal/auto-renewal behavior, refund policy, and cancellation process — not fully specified in the current billing implementation].
- You are responsible for any taxes or fees associated with your subscription unless otherwise stated.
5. AI-generated content
ClassOS uses AI (via third-party AI providers, see our Privacy Policy) to generate explanations, tutoring responses, practice quizzes, study plans, and material analysis based on your inputs. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or not fully aligned with your specific curriculum or exam board — always verify important information against your official course materials or teacher. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated output, including complying with your school's policies on AI use in coursework and exams.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and ClassOS-authored course content, is owned by ClassOS or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal educational purposes. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as homework uploads or chat messages), and grant ClassOS a license to process and store it as needed to provide the Service to you.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for ClassOS or other users, or if required by law. You may stop using the Service, or request account deletion, at any time via the contact details below. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers) will continue to apply.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" above when we do, and material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Contact us
Questions about these Terms can be sent to [PLACEHOLDER: legal/support contact email], or by phone at 07717099007.
